The land called, so I answered. Since I can remember, my ancestors have been calling on me to anchor and sustain our bloodline. When I became a mother myself, that’s when the door to this magnificent journey swung wide open. I worked my maternal lineage for over a decade. Tending and Receiving. I moved back to Charlotte on my father's birthday, though I didn't know it at the time. That detail cracked something open in me, a thread back through my paternal lineage, through farming roots in Caguas, Puerto Rico, through generations who knew how to tend soil long before I did. My garden became the place where I started healing what I didn't yet have language for. The father wound. The disconnection. The slow work of coming home to my own body.
